In 1998 Judy Fenner was ranked 10th in her age group in the National Duathlon rankings. Read how she continues to leave her athletic mark……..

What is the best way to quit smoking, it is chewing gum or wearing a nicotine patch? Not for a woman named Judy Fenner. She quit smoking by taking up the healthy habit of running, competing in triathlons and then later switching to duathlons (running and cycling only). Her story is astonishing, which should only motivate us to set our goals, achieve our goals, and then surpass our goals.
Those who know Judy describe her as being strongly compelled to succeed, and succeed she does! Judy’s will to succeed should never be challenged. She had a friend who dared her to cycle from Cape Cod to Michigan. She completed this challenge within seven days and at 100 miles per day. However, her bike did not stop there; she also cycled the coast of California. So it should not come as a surprise that in 1998, she was ranked 10th in her age group in the national duathlon rankings.
Achievements do not always come effortlessly; fortunately, she has an “excelling force,” Mike Nideur, her personal trainer. Judy and Mike are an exceptionally dedicated team who “work through the thick,
the thin,” and the injuries! Judy says that Mike puts all of the training components together safely, acknowledging her injuries and making her realize that she can get stronger. She further explains that she continues to work with Mike because his knowledge of physical alignments and orthopedic injuries beats other personal training services/facilities.
The rigid work of this duo never stops. For the last three years they have been training to gain qualification for the National Senior Games. With her determination to succeed and Mike as her “excelling force,” their hard work continues to pay off. Judy recently qualified for the National Senior Games and will be competing in August of 2009 in San Francisco.
All at Cape Cod Rehabilitation and FitPlan wish her the best of luck!
The 1994 Cape Cod Female Athlete Of The Year Recovers From Serious Injury Under The Direction Of Cape Cod Rehabilitation.
Read how Debbie McSorley leveraged aquatic therapy to return to competitive sports.

Following my bicycle accident I had fractured a vertebra and was unable workout because of the pain. My strength and conditioning went downhill rapidly. Not being able to work out contributed to my low back pain and I was searching for a solution to my problem. After years of unsuccessful treatment options injections and the possibility of surgery, my physician finally recommended physical therapy. I had heard that Cape Cod Rehab recently installed a warm water therapy pool and was eager to start a program with them.
Because of my injury, I was not able to work out and had become very de-conditioned. As a result, Joe Carroll started me off slowly with a progressive land and aquatic based Burdenko program. For me, the warm water pool at Cape Cod Rehab was the key to my recovery. I was able to progressively increase my strength and endurance utilizing the Burdenko exercises.
As a result of their dedicated and professional approach, my rehab was a success. Between the staff and the up to date facility it has been a great experience at Cape Cod Rehab. I am now in control of any pain I feel and am able to get through any issues with the exercises which I was taught. I highly recommend Cape Cod Rehabilitation and their staff and in fact have recently sent two of my friends to their facility because of my pleasant and successful experience.
